River Hall
—
After the Final Digit of Pi

nothing opens
its colossal eye
symmetry is broken
into an odd number, an even number, an odd
a tangle of cut wires hum
a god leaps from a burning tree
glass-still water abruptly ripples
every forgotten grave whispers
                      it’s coming
a man with a megaphone falls silent
he looks up agape
we hear them crackle
all the lost poems
