Using sustainable materials such as organic cotton, wool and natural dye, in a hand-weaving practice, Sarah McMurry's work is a tribute to the lives of the people who came before her. Working on a floor-loom and using the intimate, slow processes of quilting with it to act as a meditative practice allows her to create material-bodily-spiritual connections between her own hands and their lineage, the quilt becomes a product of all the hands that came before hers, allowing for a sense of repurposed creation.
